Question: I just got a new computer and it asked me if I wanted to run the Norton backup. I didn't run the Norton backup right away, and when I did and saw the history, these activities came up. Would anybody know if my computer is in danger?

Norton 360 Security History says:

msic659.tmp made 33 modifications to your Sytem Configuration

Most of that is legitimate Java processes, probably trying to update your Java (something that should be done).

These three I don't know about:

Unauthorized Acess Logged (Acess Process Data)
severity - Medium
status - logged

msic659.tmp made 33 modifications to your Sytem Configuration
severity - low
status - detected

Unauthorized Access Logged - (Access Thread Data)
severity - medium
status - logged

But the others are just Java. Go ahead and check to see if your Java is up to date. If not, go ahead and download and install the offline installer.

I doubt your new computer is already infected. Norton is just overzealous. Personally, I would recommend you remove Norton and find a better anti-virus. I'm sure others would agree with me.
