hi all,

i have a custom built desktop with an asus p5n-d with win. 7 64-bit, a intel pentium dual core, with 4gb of ram and when i put it to sleep i have to hit the power button to wake it, now thats not really a problem but i want to have it wake with the mouse. I'm posting this here because i have made sure it's not a setting in windows.

Hmm...not really sure then. I've heard of and seen problems with wireless mice not being able to wake the computer (after properly configuring the settings like you have), but never with a corded one.

What are your power settings set for? Do you have hybrid sleep enabled?

So hybrid sleep was the problem?

I don't like hybrid sleep myself, as it takes more time to "wake up" the system. But it is useful on desktops as they don't have a battery to keep the system alive in the event of a power outage (hybrid sleep does a combination of hibernate and sleep...and makes recovery after an outage easier). Hybrid sleep is useless on a laptop (with a working battery).
