I have Windows XP and SPack 2 installed. Configured to update automatically. The firewall is constantly on. Do I still need to be running Zone Alarm?

I'm not having any problems. I'm just curious:)

Oopsadaisy I can only say what I do for a firewall. I use 1 firewall. I have the windows firewall disabled itself but it does monitor the replacement firewall I use which is Kerio Personal. I feel that the Windows firewall does not provide quite exactly the protection I want as it is a basic feature and only protects from so much. It explains so in the help pages of Windows Security features.

Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight.

An OS Firewall (In this situation XP's) only alerts to incoming activity. So why use it. To me that makes it almost completly worthless. When one can have both outgoing and incoming activity monitored.

If you choose "ZoneAlarm". The XP firewall must be disabled.
