Hello
Just wondering if somebody can help me please?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong section to post in.
I have a Windows Vista laptop. I have had it since September and have not had any problems with it.

Yesterday the computer crashed while I was using Firefox, the only way I could restart it was by removing the battery. I turned the computer back on and it was working fine and then I get a message 'Windows Host Process Stopped Working'

I restarted the computer, it seemed ok and then 5 minutes later I got the same message again.

I restarted, loaded firefox and then a blue screen appeared and my computer shut itself down.

Restarted again, did a full security scan using McAfee - nothing detected. Clicked on firefox - computer crashed.

So I came to the conclusion that it must be a problem with Firefox - I uninstalled it from my system and downloaded Google Chrome. That seemed to fix the problem.

This morning I was using the laptop to watch a video using VLC Media Player - the video started jumping and then the computer became unresponsive. I restarted it but every time I click on something (Chrome, My Computer, My Documents, Start, Run etc) it crashes.

I'm using a friends computer to post this (although the laptop does work in SafeMode)

If you need any more information, please ask. Thank you in advance.

The battery is fine. I've had the problem when it's been plugged in and when it's been working on battery
