Morning all,

Am having issues with our laptop, currently running Vista Home Premium, thought initially we had picked up some malware, but have gone through all the scans, and nothing is being picked up, so am thinking now it is a windows issue.

Essentially, we run Vista Home Premium on an Acer laptop, it started having blue screen issues, saying things like supafetch has stopped working etc, but the main things are that control panel won't open, windows update won't open, and the internet connection icon says not connected to the internet, when it blatently is. On web pages, some of the pictures / icons will display and some won't, many have just red cross and words.

We have very recently been sent a Windows Upgrade disk from Acer / Microsoft, to upgrade to Windows 7, is there anything obvious that people are aware of in Vista that would cause issues like the ones we are seeing, or would it be worth putting the upgrade disk through and upgrading to Windows 7, hoping that will resolve the issues with Vista?

Many thanks in advance...

I would send it back to ACER, and let them look at it.
