When I start up the computer it start working but does not boot.
After a few seconds it gives a long beep
After the beep I press the reset button and it boots normally.
I used the Recovery Console but that did not fixed it

Henk

System manufacturer and model?

Did you attempt to find out what the beep might signify (consult your owner's manual)?

I'm confused...you say it doesn't boot...then you say it boots after Reset.

What commands did you run...from the Recovery Console...and why?

FWIW: Beep code data for your BIOS/system

The following Award BIOS beep code descriptions may help you identify possible computer problems.(For reference only.)

1 short: System boots successfully
2 short: CMOS setting error
1 long, 1 short: Memory or motherboard error
1 long, 2 short: Monitor or graphics card error
1 long, 3 short: Keyboard error
1 long, 9 short: BIOS ROM error
Continuous long beeps: Graphics card not inserted properly
Continuous short beeps: Power error

FWIW: Troubleshooting procedures are listed on pages 78-79 of Your Motherboard Manual

I don't see this as an XP issue, since the Reset button seems to trigger success...I'm going to move this to Internal Hardware, where others can provide better advice/suggestions than I think it may receive in the XP forum.

Louis
