Hello again, here's my HJT log for comp #2. Not acting right and spybot seems to crash when I run it. Says user ended scan or something like it.

Dont see much here. What problems are you having?

Print out these instructions and then close all windows including Internet Explorer.

Then I want you to fix some of those entries. Please do the following:

Please make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

How to see hidden files in Windows

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then click the Fix button:

Reboot your computer and post a new log.

Aloha Grinler,

Thanks for replying. Here's a couple of things going on with this computer. Spybot cannot complete a scan. Says user terminated scan or something like it. Cannot get into Safe Mode. The keyboard functions do not move the selections at all when trying to select Safe Mode. I did what you instructed and here's the newest log. Thanks again.

Download the attached bat file and save it to your desktop. Double-click on the check.bat file now on your desktop and then open the c:\vds directory. There should be a vds.reg file in there. Right click on vds.reg and click on edit. Post the contents of that file as a reply to this topic.

Ok dont delete the vds.reg file.

Hi. Please download and install the program Registry Lite from here:

http://www.resplendence.com/reglite

Once it is installed, please double click on the icon that should now be on your desktop. If an icon is not there, then check under programs portion of the Start Menu.

Once it is opened, copy and paste the below line, into the address field of Registrar Lite.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Minimal\vds

And press enter. You will now be presented with new information in the bottom right and left sections and on the right section.

Right click on vds and delete it. Then reboot and try to get into safe mode now. Does it work?

Double-click on the vds.reg file and let it merge the data back in.

What happens when you try to get into safe mode?

Went to C:\vds directory, doubled clicked on vds file, answered yes to the question, restarted into safe mode and got the same result. Couldn't move around using arrow keys. Thanks again.

At startup I hit "F8"
The safemode screen comes up and it won't let me choose any selections because the keyboard doesn't respond. Arrow keys should let me move the selection around but nothing happens. Enter key also does nothing so I have to reset the computer and let it boot normally avoiding "safe mode".

Because many of the wireless keyboards use drivers to make them work only when the operating system is being started, wireless keyboards may not work when trying to boot into safe mode.

If you h ave an old PS2 keyboard, you can try plugging that in and seeing if you can then use the arrow keys

Aloha Grinler,

You were right about the keyboard. That looks to be my problem why I couldn't access safemode. I ran scans with spybot and antivir. Here's the new HJT log. Let me know if there's things I still need to do. I also noticed that I get checksum errors updating Spybot on this computer and the computer that SifuMike helped clean out. Is the Spybot server having probs? Thanks again for your time and help.
