I use Firefox instead of IE. I searched the forums and found someone had asked if it was possible to delete IE from Windows Vista w/o havoc. Which is not possible. What about disabling IE? The reason I am inquiring about this is when I run CCleaner, it states in my summary that I have over 900 files (temp, history, cookies, index.dat) from IE. How can that be if I am not using that browser? Firefox/ Mozilla has its own files. Have I been hijacked?

No, that is just what has been left there since the few times you have used IE.

You can "disable" IE.

Try using this tutorial to disable it. I know you can do this in Windows 7, but I'm not 100% positive it works like this in Vista. But it's the first thing to try.
