Problem: Infected with HTTP Tidserv Request as shown by Norton 360

Description: Comes up whenever I google search anything from my browser (currently using Chrome)

Possible source: Bit torrented something bad while trying to get episode of TV show

Date of original infection: 2/10 - 2/12/2010

Computer: Lenovo X61 Tablet (notably no disc drive)

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

Other notes: After infection, I immediately ran a full scan and when was prompted to restart the computer was unable to startup. During bootup Windows notified me that Startup repair was required. So, yesterday I made a bootable USB flash drive with Windows 7 and was able to repair the startup issue. HTTP Tidserv is still present.

Steps taken since startup repair: Update virus definitions, ran quick scan, ran CC cleaner, updated Windows 7

Steps to be taken following post: disconnect from internet and check post from other laptop.

Let me know if you need additional info. I have OTL.ex and ComboFix.exe loaded on my desktop but have not run yet.

Thank you for your time.

Hello Tidserv is a serious infection. Do not run CombFix on your own. You should go here....
Preparation Guide .

Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic from step 9 not here.
If Gmer won't run, skip it and move on.
Let me know if that went well.
