Team,
about 3 months ago, a virus everyone probably knows about came to my PC. I could not log on without it taking over my PC. I could not remove it or delete. I did some web searching, Malware, Safe Mode, registry etc. Well i am a old dude I have done some re formatting, Hard Drive change outs etc.

Well just last week I logged on and the Security Tool Virus was gone ? Why is the question. What else do I need to do. I have Norton Anti Virus re activated. Do I need to go to the add/remove option to find any Virus left overs

The recommended approach to Security Tool malware: BC Security Tool Removal Guide.

I would go through the steps/procedures described in the link above.

Personally, I would also suggest a thorough scan of the system with your installed/updated AV program...after following the removal procedures contained in the link.

Hi -
The infection may seem to have "gone away" but unless it was removed then traces of it will still remain -
Please follow the advice from hamluis as a minimum - You will not find it in Add/Remove area of your system -

Thank You -
