I try and start outlook and wqebroo and it says it is missing wsock32.dll. I have run the program sfc /scannow and it wants a XP cd to get files from. I don't have an XP CD. Other sites suggest running REGCURE. Any ideas?

Outlook Express (XP mail client) or Outlook (Office mail client)?

You might check the spelling on the second program/process you listed.

Please post the exact error messages you receive.

You should be able to find the file in C:\Windows\System32\dllcache
Copy it over to C:\Windows\System32

Sorry about that. it was Webroot.

It is outlook not express and that error message ws " the required file Wscock32.dll annot be found in yur path, please renstall microsoft outlook."
and the Webroot error was almost the same " This application as faild to start because sock32.dll was not found. Re-installing this application may fix this problem"

I didn't have the dllcache foler so I copied it orm another computer and that did seem to fix the problm.

Thanks guys, Ididn't think it would be that easy as the sites onli made it seem like youneeded to install the dll
