Occasionally when I shut down my pc for the night nistead of the usual windows is logging off message the screen goes black and after a slightly longer than usual time the pc shuts down but the leds on my keyboard stay alight. Has anyone else experienced this? I dont think it is a problem but would like to know all the same.

Look for PME (Power Management Event) in the Power section of your BIOS and make sure it is not set to Wake the Computer.
Setting the BIOS to the Default level should turn all the Wake the Computer Events off, then see if the problem is solved.
