Well, my problem is this. Everytime I go online I get constant messages from Mcaffee that they have cleaned and deleted a Backdoor-bdd trojan. Maybe up to four or five times in 30 minutes. It's just irking me majorly since I can't seem to get rid of it via Mcafee's virus scanner and Adaware's newest version. Do any of you know how I can get rid of this bloody trojan. I also have Win XP as my os. Much thanks in advance.

Please run two online virus scans:

http://housecall.antivirus.com/
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/

Then let us know if its working better and what the scans found.

I downloaded and ran both of those scans. I also ran McAfee virus scan and a spysweeper program and I am still getting this bleeping pop up every time I launch my browser that says a trojan has been detected and cleaned.

McAfee has been no help and I cant contact them directly... what do I do  now? :flowers:

Grinler.... can I talk about the BDD virus on this thread? I too tried to d/l other fix-it programs... I don't want to have to take my box to a computer store, if there is a way (real way) to get rid of this. Every move I make, McAffe kicks in... I'm ready to reformat and start all over....

Goya,

Do this:

Create a directory on your hardrive, to save HijackThis.exe, called c:\hijackthis. This is a mandatory step, for the backup and restore functions, of HijackThis, to be able to work.

Download the latest version, from here.
