Is there a safe, free program that can be used to block certain websites froma home computer? I've been using HOSTS but I wanted to find something that would work with say a keyword.

You can do it using FoxFilter add-on for Firefox. You can add any keyword to block sites. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4351
