I just did a new build using an Asus M4A78T-E and a Phenom II X2 545 (3.0 gigglehurtz) "Black Box" edition.

The mobo came with BIOS ver 1605, and in the process of "taking care of stuff", I updated to BIOS ver 2503.

New "Splash Screen" said to press '4' to activate 4 Cores. So I did.....

Nice :flowers:

Speccy (another nice item from the good folks at Piriform, home of CCleaner and DeFraggler)

now shows it as a Deneb 45nm X4 B545!

945 3.0 GHz 95W

The only thing I need to do now is upgrade the power supply from 350w to 500w "just in case". I had budgeted overall power for the old Antec case and silent 350w supply based on the 65W X2 545.

Now if ASUS would just send me a BIOS update for my checking account.....
