Names Hal and I hail from Utah. This is my first forum and I'd like to see if this a more efficient way of getting answers, than constantly searching the web. I am an old (not necessarily competent ) computer user, and look forward to this new experience.

and thats all I have to say about that.

Hello grouchybyte and  to Bleeping Computer.

Please take a few moments to browse the New User Orientation forum, to help familiarize yourself with how the forum works.

Also, don't forget to check out the Tutorials.
There is a lot of very useful information there.

(and yes, I did that. http://snipurl.com/uzjwb [news_google_com] )

Yes, I have the shirt. I did the tech beta on both Win 98 and Win98SE.

Been an electronic tech and electrician since 1959 (admittedly repairing TVs back then was easy for a lad of 9 with a good tube (valve for you on the east side of the pond) tester).

I did a little messing around with the early stuff, TI99's/Atari's/Sinclair's but didn't get into PCs until 1990. I got a "box of goodies" in pay for some car audio work. In it were enough parts (and boxed MSDSOS 3.3) to build a working 386SX16.

I've been buildin 'n fixin since.

I *HATE* spammers, been nailing them since 1996. If you reply to any of my posts here, preface the subject line with BP. That way I'll know it came from here

How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook
