Hi all,
I posted a help plea in the malware logs section this morning but realize in my frustration I missed some steps. It says not to post again because the assistants will think its being seen to so Im unsure what to do now as its slipping further down the pages :flowers:

Im also having a big problem actually completing some of the steps and am unsure if my pc is even safe to use which is bad cause I kinda need to lol.

Ive done a DDS log now and have that saved but when I attempted the GMER scan, it was scanning fine THEN my PC just rebooted before it was finished and before it even got to the save log file.

Any suggestions how to get these logs for you guys? I'm guessing starting a new topic there is bad too

OMG this virus or whatever it is SO annoying. I think a few screws have fallen out of my head :flowers:
Malwarebytes removes the browser hijackers, reboots and yay they are back again! :trumpet:
The GMER thing hates me and scans for 8 hours before crashing happily, I can almost feel it flipping me the bird and laughing as the screen snaps to black
I've run SB S&D, SuperAntiSpyware, Spyware Blaster, Avast!, they happily say nothings wrong
And my plea for help has slipped so far down the list it will pop out in antarctica soon on the back of a whale (hopefully not an infected one).

Does anyone have any suggestions what else I can try? LOL

Yours Insanely,
SomeSoonToBeBaldChick :inlove:

Hello,

I have merged your new topic to your previously existing topic in posted in the log forum. You can find the merged topic here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/302942/xp-defender-pro-virusmalware/

I know how frustrating it is when your computer isn't working properly. Let me assure you that your topic isn't lost, forgotten, or ignored. We work with hundreds of logs every day, so we have devised a means of seeing only those topics that don't have responses yet. At the moment, we have nearly 150 unanswered topics, the oldest dated Mar. 15, 2010 at 4:13 am Eastern Daylight Savings time in the U.S.A. Your HiJack This topic is dated Mar. 16 2010 at 3:50 PM using the same time zone.

Our volunteer MRT team members have various levels of expertise and training, so while we try to take the oldest DDS/HJT logs, it is often the skill level of the particular helper and sometimes the operating system that dictates which logs get selected first. Some infections are more complicated than others and require a higher skill level to remove. Without that skill level attempted removal could result in disastrous results. In other instances, the helper may not be familiar with the operating system that you are using, since they use another. In either case, neither of us would want someone to assist you who is not familiar with your issue and attempt to fix it.

Please note: you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a MRT Team member, nor should you ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the MRT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the MRT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the MRT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

Please be patient. It may take several days to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic. Good luck with your log.

Orange Blossom
