Hi there

I just joined this forum while I was desperately searching for help to fix my comp, lol, as a page came up on the search and it looks as if you people are really helpful. No good looking for help at microsoft, is it, their site is about as helpful as a wet kipper :flowers:

So what to say to introduce me? Well, I have been using computers for, gosh, about 5 years now. Not exactly a complete innocent, but far from an expert either - I just tend to learn on a need to know basis, lol. I have 3 kids, the oldest keeps downloading things that turn out to be spyware, adware, or just simply cost a fortune (makes mental note to get 0900 numbers blocked), the youngest not able to use the comp yet, the middle one, my son, is an absolute whizz, only needs to see something once and he can do it. Yesterday he was uninstalling a program in the hopes that another program would run if he did so. It didn't work, so he reinstalled it, lol. He hid all the games by moving into another folder a while ago, and he is pretty much as good as I am on the comp, which saves me a lot of work, lol. He is 6, btw, and wants to design robots for spaceships when he grows up :trumpet:

Ah, a mother's pride!

Oh, and my husband, who I really dare not allow to do anything on the comp, bless him, except under strict guidance, which can be frustrating as I could do it 10 times faster myself, but he really wants to learn so I grit my teeth. I don't think dyslexia helps when it comes to spotting the difference between two files that only have one letter different between them :inlove: Poor love.

Anyways, I am off to the forum to post my Q and see if there is any way of fixing this thing other than reinstalling windows, which is always a complete pain in the backside.

Welcome to BC!
Having a lot of computer users at home can often cause problem- - -too many hands spoiling the soup, as it were. Hopefully your family can use BC to learn more about computing, and help is just a post away.
Regards,
John

 kamali and :flowers: to Bleeping Computer. You and I share a few things in common. I too have 3 children and they are always messing up the puter. My hub shows no interest in the computer tho. Lucky for us. LOL But if he wanted to learn I would show him how. he has no interest. lol Thank you for joining the forum and posting a hello to us.
