ok so i just received a ati radeon 9200 PCI video card and plugged it in. when i start up windows everything on screen looks really messed. coincidence? so i open the device manager and see the error for "Video controller (VGA conpatable)". so i hit up Google for some drivers and find the one for my series and start the installation. only to see the error "Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA diver before running setup." iv looked all over for the right driver with no success. any one got anything?

What is your operating system?

I suggest you go right to the source for your drivers, which can be found at http://www.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDHomePage.aspx

Yes, ATI has merged with AMD So on this page look for ATI radeon drivers section.

Since you did not post what your OS is, I can't direct link you to the correct driver.

You might want to go through this: Driver Installation Instructions

Then try using this : Catalyst 6.11

If you can find out the card's manufacturer(like Sapphire, XFX, MSI...), you could also look for the drivers on their website.
