I was told to post here.

Problem pc had a blue screen with a message of 42 threats, purchase license to fix it.
Pc ended up locking up. A system restore was done and pc appears to working okay for the moment.
I was told that it appeared to be a phony antimalware program somewhere. I needed to find it.

"You need to identify it...or provide more info on it to eliminate it."

These are the steps that were suggested to me:

"Since the system is now working...I suggest running Malwarebytes as a first step, to be followed by a current scan using your installed AV program. I would then follow that up with a detailed scan using SUPERAntiSpyware"

What do you think?
