I am running XP Pro, fully service packed and updated.

Having been infected with Security Centre 2010 virus from a rogue email, I have got rid of it by running rkill.com followed by malwarebyte.

I have now installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 from the Administrator account in XP Pro.

When logged in as Administrator everything works fine. I have rerun Malwarebytes and done a full scan with KIS and both come back absolutely clean.

However, when I log in as any other account most of the desktop shortcuts say they can't find the program and invite me to locate it, and I get the same behaviour if I try to launch exe files from their original location.

Kaspersky also does not load or run from within any of these accounts, although when I log on again as Administrator it loads normally and I can launch all my programs both from shortcuts and from their locations.

Can you advise which settings have been compromised and how to restore then please.

Thanks

Hello,

It appears as though there are still remnants of the infection. Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<==

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then post back here and we will provide you with further instructions.
