My computer has been a bit funky lately, but after paying $50 to an IT guy it was running ok. Only problem is that I keep getting redirected to other websites, especially when I Google something.

Now, my AVG antivirus just detected a threat that said that my C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\atapi.sys is infected with an identified virus Win32/Patched.CH

I have read from other people online that the redirected websites and this infection might be related.

AVG only offers me the option to Ignore, but that doesn't sound very safe.

What can I do? I am not very good with computers and fail to understand what everyone means by logs.

Thank you very much

Sounds like you have a bad infection there that will require specialized tools to resolve. Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<==

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then post back here and we will provide you with further instructions.
