I am trying to fix my cousins computer. He is running windows vista 32bit. I am not able to update: Malwarebytes, Ad-Aware, A-squared, Windows Defender, and AVG.

They all give errors codes that suggest checking proxy settings. I know that is can be a result due to malware.

While trying to search in Firefox the search links get redirected.

Let me know what other information that you need.

I am trying to download the updates manually but have had no luck connecting to there sites. They always come up with sever not found or existing. Somewhere the sites are being blocked.

Thanks for any help.

Ran Malwarebytes in safe mode and nothing was detected. It is running with out of date definitions though, do you know where I could download the definition files manually and install them.

Other than that I am not able to find anything, but still any search gets redirected and cannot connect to certain websites at all. Still cannot update any anti-virus programs.
