My problem is almost identical to the one in this thread: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/300721/uxthemedll-infected-with-win32patchedck/

AVG Free 9.0 contantly gives me warnings of a threat detected in system32/uxtheme.dll.
Today is the first time this has happened.

I have tried a system restore to no avail.

I ran DDS however GMER runs for some time and then my system crashes and reboots itself so I cannot generate a report.

If someone could help me it would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks.

The author of the other similar thread used a replacer program to change the infected dll to a new clean one. I did that too and now the virus warnings are not coming up so I suppose this is solved.
