I'm not 100% new-new to Bleeping Computer, lol. I was a tech support agent for an ISP, hired through a outsource telecommunications company who took on this ISP as a long time client. I was laid off last week
At the time, tho, I came across Bleeping computer several times when looking for details on specific malware infections. A customer would tell me what it was called or give me symptoms, I'd run a search on what was said, read back the description, or if I could, give them the link to the screen shots of what the thing looked like. That way I could tell them exactly what it is they were dealing with and who to contact to correct the issue. Many times the customer would blame the antivirus software company we'd partnered with and offered complimentary service from, and that was my way of defending them :D
Recently, I'd taken on another business venture that involves extensive work online, and I'm skilled in certain areas, but could use some expert advice on aspects that I'm not skilled in. Also it seems like the machine that I'm on right now seems to get reoccurring infections with the same malware over the past couple of months. I'll be posting details on that elsewhere in a bit.
