I have Windows XP, and I usually use Mozilla Firefox as a browser. I have the free editions of Avast!, AdAware, Spybot Search & Destroy, and WinPatrol. Lately my computer has been restarting itself, and then when it comes back on, WinPatrol reports that a new system 32 startup program called dumprep is trying to install itself. I click that the change is not expected and acceptable, but it keeps happening. Running my anti-virus, anti-spyware software isn't helping. What should I do?

This is a legitmate XP process, and should be allowed. See the information at:

Ok, but why is my computer screwing up? Can't malware hide under legitamate names? From what I've been able to find online, other people have had problems with "dumprep" too. Is there anything I can do to get rid of the problem with my computer?
