I put the hard drives from one computer into another. Repaired the OS (Win XP Pro). Installed drivers for the system.
Now the local parallel printer doesn't print; but it did with the previous hard drives. It is an HP LaserJet 5P PostScript C3150A. Test page prints from the printer itself.

But lpt1 is not found.
The port is on the motherboard and not on a card. Motherboard is Intel D925XCV ?
I uninstalled port lpt1 in Device Manager. Rebooted. Did a hardware scan so it was found again.
I tried to update driver. Uninstalled and reinstalled driver.
Uninstalled printer and reinstalled printer.

dir > lpt1 produces nothing

Not sure what to do in BIOS or what commands to run in DOS.
