Hello again Kat540. Where did you download it from?

Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6.2

It says its compatible with all Windows versions. Why do you think you need Spybot? I never had one on my Win98SE or WinME.

Have you managed to sort out a good virus checker?

Hi Kat

I assume that Spybot installed without problems or errors.
When Spybot loads there shuld be a progress indicator scrolling across the screen. Does it hang at any point?
Do you ever get to the main program screen?

Try shutting down as many background programs as you can temporarily. In the system tray, bottom right corner by the clock, make a list & post back what is there. Try right clicking on each & see if you can exit them. Especially programs like instant messengers.

Posting system specs would be helpful as well.
In the beginning there was the command line.

Well as I suggested before Avast! Home Edition 4.8.1368 is supposed to have ĽAnti-spyware built-in. Have you installed it yet? The Avast 5 has anti-Malware built in as well but it won't work on Win98SE.
