Had bad motherboard, common issue with these units. Purchased used mobo and now need to reset the model number and serial number so that my original recovery disks will work.

HP Pavilion dv6700 laptop.

Does anyone have the tattoo utility for this unit? I have quite a few tattoo utilities from my days of working for HP, but none will work on this unit.

Thanks. Perhaps PM me with a download link or instructions on how to get.

Thanks again.

Assuming you need the HP DMI utility, PM me an email address and I will send it to you. It is about a 1.1 meg zip.

I forgot where I got it, but it was a major PITA to find.

I have it saved on another system and I will send it to you asap (as soon as I find it).
