I have multiple symptoms consistent with the security essentials 2010 issue. I at least have the dds and attach.txt logs.
I am scanning all the posts here and trying different fixes. I have a couple of posts open.

I'm at the library downloading the files.
I can only run in safe mode on my computer - when I try to download from my computer it changes the name of the file to a really long
file name with random letters and numbres.
I'm operating as an admin now.
anyway, I can get combo fix on my desktop (copied from the library computer) but it won't run.
I can get gmer on my desktop (from the library download) but I get an adobe error when I try to open it sometimes, sometimes not, just wont' open.
same wtih mbam...but i have gone through the mbam correction 2 x before and the fix lasted about a day.
Maybe because I didn't ahve the firewall enabled? It's enabled now.

Any ideas? I need help.
