Hey Guys,

I have been using Google Chrome for years now...I love it and very rarely has it caused me trouble. However, within the last few days it has been failing. When Chrome opens the toolbars show, however the actual screen doesn't, and I can see the desktop underneath. When I try to do anything, Chrome crashes and asks me to restart. The restart doesn't help. So I uninstalled Chrome from my computer and tried reinstalling it. This doesn't work. As soon as I execute the installer I get the message "Unknown Installer Error" and the operation fails.

I know I don't have any malware and I've never had this problem before. Please help!

Thanks,
BelfastSixpack

UPDATE: This has started affecting IE as well.

UPDATE: Here's the error code: AppName: chrome.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: chrome.dll
ModVer: 4.0.249.89 Offset: 00739aeb
