I just discovered this forum, while having serious problems with my ISP, and decided to join right away. Love@1stsite, I could say. Really like the visual style, which is important factor, when you become a regular forumist.
I have recently moved to an "underdevelopped country" at least when it comes to internet operators, and since, my computer has been subject to all kinds of attacks and harassments..
Before I thought to have fairly sufficient understanding of security in computing. I have been happy sygate -customer since I remember, also I have been avoiding all the obvious threads, like IE and opening unnecessary e-mails. Currently my measures have turned insufficients, because of the jungle spirit of the local "cable guys"
So let this be beginning of my journey to more systematical understanding of security issues in home computing.

A good place to start is by reading some of the excellent tutorials about computer security, as well as threads in the Web browsing and the Antivirus discussion boards.
Welcome to BC!
