I assume this is your computer. That PC uses PC 133 memory. Exactly which brand and model of RAM have you installed?

The computer is my brothers. No upgraded memory has been installed it would not work. The monitor would not display a screen. The stock chip is a hynix 128mb it works fine trying to upgrade to 512mb with a Kingston KVR133X64c3-256 and a Samsung K4S560832E-TC-75. When computer is off monitor goes into standby mode, when turned on it jumps into normal mode and displays the win logo etc. When the two upgrade chips are installed the monitor when the computer is turned on will not come out of standby mode and display any kind of a screen. With the stock chip it does fine.

How many individual memory chips are there on each 256 meg stick. 8 or 16?

I am a retired Ford tech. Next to Fords, any computer is a piece of cake. (The cake, its not a lie)

3770K @4.5, Corsair H100, GTX780, 16gig Samsung, Obsidian 700 (yes there is a 700)

Yes we did. The problem is the monitor stays in standby and when the computer starts up the screen remains black. The stock 128mb chip works fine boots up to logo etc.

Regards
