I frequently use the windows search function to search for files by date, so I know how it works. But yesterday I created 2 notebook files on my desktop which are still there but the search function could not find them, or any other file on that date. Today it does find some stuff but not the notebook files or the one I was looking for.

I've not heard of this problem before. Does anybody know what might be causing it?

I'm using Vista, SP1

It's probably just that the search index has not gathered them up into its list yet (takes a little time for new files).

See here for more info on the Windows search index.
