I've problems in the past with the Malware Defense and Antivirus Live malware programs and some others that required reformatting. I backed up a bunch of music on dvd-r by saving them as data discs and it loaded up no prob and passed all scans by avg free and malwarebytes. I went to load up my last dvd-r of pics from my daughter and the files showed up as an internet explorer "e" symbol instead of a folder. Don't know if it's anything to worry about.

Did you set the file association to IE? Sometimes if you tell a certain file to open up with a certain program it will use that programs icon.

I agree with cryptodan, have you tried right clicking and selecting the option "open with" and open them with a picture viewing program, before you select OK just above that should be a tick box saying "always open using this program" tick the box and it should now associate them with the picture program and not internet explorer.

Yeah I ran malwarebytes and avg after an update but can't figure it out. Nothing is running slow or anything. I think it might be associated with either the adobe reader I just installed cuz they were coming up fine before but now don't so it's tripping me out. I haven't changed any of the settings. I bring it up from the my computer setup. That way I can run scans of the stuff again before i download from the dvd-r.
