I have tried 2 sets of Cd Drives on my computer and non of them work. 1 cd drive worked for about a week and then stoped. when ever i try to reinstall it, i get this message

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Can someone please help me? i cant read any disk so that means i cant use any recovery disk.

When you say you have 2 sets of CD-Roms, does this mean you have 4 cd-rom drives?

Go to the Device Manager and Remove your CD-Rom Drives and restart your computer and let Windows reload the drivers.

Device Manager:
Right Click My Computer>Properties>Hardware Tab>Device Manager>Click the + by CD Drives>Click on each one and Remove>Restart

Are both cd devices on the same cable with one as a master and one as a slave?

Actually, unless one is a burner, why do you have two installed?

Do both drives show in the Device Manager?
Do you have the Jumpers on the drives set to Master & Slave? Are they plugged into the correct plug on the IDE Cable? Are you using a 40 pin or 80 pin cable?
Supply as much information on your setup as possible.
