Hello, I have a problem with vista home and retek hd audio. I lost my audio after a update, and since I had system restored off, I was only able to get the sound working by reloading the os. But this time I started creating restore point before doing a update, the sound continued to work until
service pack 2 was installed. I was able to load a restore point and now have not install any additional updates.

My questions are
1. Is there a way to create and backup a restore point to safe location, where it wont get overwritten why I try to get the sound working
after loading service pack two.

2. Is there a fix for this problem with realtek audio, other then reloading the driver until it works, a solution suggested by others.

3. Any ideas why this is happening.
