I have the personal security trojan, I have tried to download the recommended remoal software unsuccessfully. Also, created a copy to external drive and attempte to run the programs per the intstructions on the infected computer but once again nothing will install. I tried to start in safe mode previously, and the computer shuts down. Also, tried to system restore but the oldest date shown was only this past fall, and when I selected that date, nothing changed with regard to functionality of the computer.

I also tried to install the removal software when the personal security program was actively running (as recommended) but this also did not work.

At this point, I can open email but no other documents and I can not run any other programs on the computer. I was unsucessful installing the software included in the "preparation guide for use before using malware removal tools"

Is there anything further I can do? Any sneak attack or work around short of wiping the hard drive?

Appreciate any help or guidance.
