Hi Christechie and welcome to Bleeping.

Can you be a little more specific about what the problem is please?

While you're doing that, please remove these entries with HijackThis:

** Allow the changes if SpySweeper or AOL Anti-Spyware question them.

Reboot and post a fresh log with the above mentioned explanation. :flowers:

I run Black Ice PC Protection on this machine. I received a warning of someone trying to run some sort of shell program. Soon afterward, I noticed some strange occurances on the PC. Upon boot up, little by little, Black Ice would close each and every application that was installed on the PC. All of the desktop icons dissappeared and only a cold boot would work. If I disabled the Application Protection protion of Black Ice, the PC was fine. Some how, Black Ice settings were changed, but I did not change them. The firewall protection was set to trusting, which I would NEVER do. The Intruder list was emtied and I did not empty it. As stated above, I could not run the Application Protection at all.

ISS, had be remove Black Ice and perform a fresh install, but I thought I'd run a HiJackThis log through this forum anyway. I wanted to see if anything was out of place. I removed the 3 entries, as instructed and here's my new log. Thanks!!

There's still nothing in the HJT log.

Lets take a closer look inside for safety's sake.

Download Silentrunners.zip from here and unzip it a new folder on your desktop.
  • Run the SilentRunners.vbs file. If your antivirus has a script blocker, you will get a warning asking if you want to allow SilentRunners.vbs to run. This script is not malicious so please allow it.
  • A text file will appear in the folder - it's not done, let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
  • Once you receive the prompt "All Done!", open the text file and copy & paste it in your next reply.

Still nothing I'm afraid.

Why don't you try a different firewall to see if they detect something similar.

John, since all of the weird activity on the PC stopped once I did a remove of the Black Ice PC Protection and a re-install, I think I'm going to let things be. Thanks for all of your help with the logs!!
