Download FindQoologic.zip save it to your Desktop.
http://forums.net-integration.net/index.ph...=post&id=134981

Extract (unzip) the files inside into their own folder called FindQoologic.
Open the FindQoologic folder. Preferable to your desktop.
Locate and double-click the Find-Qoologic.bat file to run it.
Wait until a text opens.
Post this in your next reply.

Hi,

I can't believe this isn't showing a thing. Let's try something else..

Download winpfind

Reboot in SAFE MODE !! Important !!
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key

Doubleclick winpfind.exe
Click start Scan.
It will scan for a while, so please be patient.
Let it finish the job.

Reboot back to normal mode.

Post the contents of winpfind.txt which is present in the winpfind-folder in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.

WARNING: not all files found by this scanner are bad. Consult with a knowledgable person before proceeding.

If you see a message in the titlebar saying "Not responding..." you can ignore it. Windows somethimes displays this message due to the high volume of disk I/O. As long as the hard disk light is flashing, the program is still working properly.

Hello,

I still don't understand why findqoologic wasn't showing anything, because the responsibe files are shown in winpfind though.
Did you really extract/unzip findqoologic.zip before?
Anyway, let's deal with it now

Hijackthis is still in your temp-folder, so I strongly advise to create a permanent folder and move hijackthis.exe into it. The reason is because hijackthis creates backups and when it's in your temp-folder it can be accidentally deleted.
How do you make a permanent folder:

Click My Computer, then C:\ and then on Program Files.
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis".
Now you have C:\Program Files\HijackThis. Put your HijackThis.exe there.

* Download Killbox.
Click killbox.exe.
Select the option "Delete on reboot".

Now copy the next bold:

C:\WINDOWS\lrti.dll
C:\WINDOWS\kerf.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\wuauclt.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\vgactl.cpl
C:\WINDOWS\dpra.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp\rkpn.exe

Open 'file' in the killboxmenu on top and choose Paste from clipboard

Now you will see, this is pasted in the "Full Path of File to Delete"-field.
There's a little arrow (dropdown-arrow) next to that field.
If you expand it, these lines must be there together if the files are present!

Then press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot.. Click YES
When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES
If you don't get that message, reboot manually.
Click No at the Pending Operations prompt.

Your computer must reboot now.

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: ZeroBar - {F5735C15-1FB2-41FE-BA12-242757E69DDE} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\NETZERO\TOOLBAR.DLL (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winsync] C:\WINDOWS\dpra.exe reg_run
O4 - Startup: rkpn.exe
O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

If you don't know next entries and didn't set it yourself, also check them in hijackthis:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://mirs.peoplepc.com/?offername=PeoplePC Online& amp;userName=WITHHELD=KCPBNJOKKPNCCBNNANPDHBHGONLLMDLCFOHEJEPINJKKNGFPIEKFNJHEGLKLJGGCIPHLBAPHOLJAEBEPDHGPDBMMMJEFHIKPEJIKJFKBBPDJEJEAFFKEMMKAKKDMBADN|FJNPJOBBDGNMCNOPADEEAAGOBAFDFELJCL
O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://mirs.peoplepc.com/?offername=PeoplePC Online& amp;userName=WITHHELD=KCPBNJOKKPNCCBNNANPDHBHGONLLMDLCFOHEJEPINJKKNGFPIEKFNJHEGLKLJGGCIPHLBAPHOLJAEBEPDHGPDBMMMJEFHIKPEJIKJFKBBPDJEJEAFFKEMMKAKKDMBADN|FJNPJOBBDGNMCNOPADEEAAGOBAFDFELJCL

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

* Install an antivirus and a firewall:

AVG, Bitdefender OR Avast are good FREE antivirus.
Never install more than one antivirusscanner or firewall on your system! Several together can give problems and decreases the reliability of it seriously!
Zonealarm, Kerio OR Sygate are FREE firewalls.

Understanding and using firewalls

Update your antivirus and let it perform a full scan to get rid of the leftovers.

Reboot!

I want to know what it is, so can you go to next site:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/

On top you'll find: File to upload and scan.
Now browse to the next file:

C:\WINDOWS\ss3unstl.exe

Click submit and let it scan.
Post the results in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.

Service load: 0% 100%

File: ss3unstl.exe
Status: MIGHT BE INFECTED/MALWARE (Sandbox emulation took a long time and/or runtime packers were found, this is suspicious. Normally programs aren't packed and don't force the sandbox into lengthy emulation. Do realize no scanner issued any warning, the file can very well be harmless. Caution is advised, however.)

Hello,

Well, it looks like that file is legit (the one you submitted at jotti)

I see a clean log, and I assume that you know this entry or set it yourself:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://mirs.peoplepc.com/?offername=PeoplePC Online&userName=WITHHELD=KCPBNJOKKPNCCBNNANPDHBHGONLLMDLCFOHEJEPINJKKNGFPIEKFNJHEGLKLJGGCIPHLBAPHOLJAEBEPDHGPDBMMMJEFHIKPEJIKJFKBBPDJEJEAFFKEMMKAKKDMBADN|FJNPJOBBDGNMCNOPADEEAAGOBAFDFELJCL

Because I already asked you before to fix it unless you know it.

How are things running now? Popups gone?

Visit asap http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com to download and install all the updates and security patches!! Because you really need them!!

Hey! Yes everything is working better now. Zonealarm is slowing things down a bit, but then my pc is sooo old. I really should get a new one but this one is becoming like an old friend I guess. I removed the last file you noted from the hjt log. I guess I was just missing it. Thank you so much for your help!

Hi, well if zonealarm really slows down your system that much, I suggest you uninstall it and install Sygate or Kerio Firewall instead. They don't need as many sources Zonealarm needs.
