When I try to install SAS Free on a Vista Machine, I get through all the screens to the final one - then the screen just grays out and the computer completely locks-up, requiring a hard boot.

I tried installing SUPERAntiSpyware.exe and SAS_FREE.EXE with the same results.

I was able to scan the computer with the SAS binary file, SASSAFERUN.COM, and it only found a tracking cookie, which I quarantined.

I was able to install and scan with MalwareBytes and it found about 20 issues in two scans. **See logs below**

After running Malwarebytes I had the exact same results installing SAS.

I even tried to uninstall SAS with SASUNINST.EXE and then install again with the same results.

I DID NOT run Malwarebytes or the SAS binary file in Safe Mode.

I'm working on this machine (Dell Laptop) for a friend who was complaining of very slow speed and frequent lock-ups. I ran CCleaner and disabled a lot of unnecessary start-up programs to gain some speed but now have the issue with SAS (I tried to install SAS before and after disabling the start-up programs)

I considered running Combo-fix, Stinger and some others but don't know enough about them to take a chance on someone else s computer!

Thanks, Jim

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<==

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then post back here and we will provide you with further instructions.
