Hello Everybody! I am thinking about purchasing an external DVD drive for my computer. I have a HP 5100DC desktop running Windows XP with a Pentium 4 CPU @ 3.00 Ghz and 3.11 GB of Ram. It has a built in CD-ROM drive but no DVD drive. Can I add one through a USB port? Does anyone have a recommendation as to what brand/model is good?

Rather than go with an external...why not simply replace the CD-ROM with a DVD burner?

The CD-ROM functions are part of the DVD functions.
