Hi
I have just started getting a 'Run as' box pop up every time I go to use an
application/program on my PC. when i double click it comes up with-

It says:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which user account do you want to use this program?

Current user (my user name)

Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity

This option can prevent computer viruses from harming your computer or
personal data, but selecting it might cause the program to function improperly.

The following user:

User name:

Password:

I Can navigate around it by just starting the program with current used and/or jst clicking the red x in the corner But It is really annoying and i would very much like to turn it off completely...When i right click the options i now have are run as in bold and the default option and start - both bring up the run as box and i have no idea why it has started doing it.

i had the virus - antivirus 2010.

But it hink i am rid of itt... at least it doesn't seem to be around. i ran MBAM and superAnti spyware

any help is much appreciated.

I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this fix...I've been going crazy with the very same problem and now, thanks to you Broni, I'm sane again and the 'run as' box is gone!

Thank you very much for posting the fix!!
