I have a Toshiba laptop that I bought August of last year. Thankfully that means I still have that one year limited warranty.

I've noticed that near the bottom of the screen there's this little black dot. Well at first I thought it was a smudge but as I tried to rub it off it wouldn't come off. I thought it would go away but now it's spread out a little bit and there's a new "smudge," looking dot above it now. I'm wondering if these are what people call dead pixels?

If it is dead pixels, do you think my limited warranty will cover this?

Yea that is a dead pixel and if it gets progressively worse it might be the graphic card that is having some issues. Either way CALL Toshiba, its covered under the Limited Warranty. How do I know? Because I work in computer retail and warranty is all we sell.
Anyways don't let it sit because once the warranty is up its going to come out of your pocket.

Thanks. Right after posting this I went out and now that I've turned it back on, a third dot has appeared on my screen. It's getting worse so I guess I'll have to call Toshiba tomorrow.
