Is there any way to recover the files from a thumb drive that no longer works? Long story. I had a computer built to play World of Warcraft and hold other MS Office files (creative writing) and photos, but the person did not build it as he represented. I began having problems with it and backed important files up on my thumb drive. I also added some holiday photos to the thumb drive, intending to move them to the computer once I got it working correctly. Before I could do that, the thumb drive stopped working. It is a 4GB Memorex traveldrive. I did not have it backed up, thinking that was my backup, and not realizing that thumb drives can also fail. (Yes, a noob move.) The thumb drive has a blue light that went on when it was connected to a PC, but now the light doesn't go on and the drive doesn't show up in My Computer. I have tried it on at least four different computers and a USB hub. I would hate to lose the photos more than any of the other files. Does anyone know if there is a way to get these files off of the thumb drive? Thank you very much for any suggestions.
