Anyway,the first time we caught the virus I paid Dell over a hundred dollars to walk me through the task of doing a clean boot and in the end, lost everything. But the second time rather than call Dell, I tried to research it and like so many others, download this and that to no prevail and in the end, the virus won and my hard drive was blank by the time I relented and called (and yes, PAYED (now 50 dollars) Dell.
Before calling Dell my Internet carrier recommended PLUMLINE, who assured me that if they could not resolve the issue that my credit card would be 100 % refunded. They determined my hard drive was destroyed and I would need to call Dell and have them send me the software needed to reinstall everything. BUT!!! First the man gave me some valuable advice which has turned out to prove true for us.
Plumline told me that they had been testing Windows Essentials for some time now, which is a FREE SECURITY SERVICE for windows users!!! We had been using McAfee since purchasing our Dell, but he told me that if I would just give Windows Essentials a try that I would be pleased. He said it far surpasses all the rest from his own personal experience and completely recommended it once I got up and running again.
Once I was able to finally use my Dell again I took the advice and downloaded Windows Essentials. It was not until a few weeks ago when I opened an email from UPS that actually had a UPS address and opened the attachment that I realized the MAGNITUDE of this decision! it was as if bells and whistles and alarms all sounded at once, although I am not sure how it came down actually, except to say Windows Essentials was armed and ready and FULLY ON ALERT! it stopped it dead in it's tracks! Even SPYBOT did not catch it!
I will also tell you that due to now having the name of the Virus and valuable info that I have never had before, I was able to research it and discovered "WINDOWS LIVE ONECARE SCAN, which also is a free service from Microsoft! Not only that, but it literally did EVERYTHING and more that all the previous downloads I had done to try to resolve the virus's could never quite do, and all in one sweep!
In the end my computer was like a brand new computer due to Microsoft repairing every little issue that needed attention. They also had a record for legal purposes of who had implanted what for their future legal purposes of fighting these attacks and bringing the hackers to justice.
Last week my cousin got the security virus and porn sites took everything over, as this is how they cause you to buy the removal software they sale in order to get your info. She could not even do a clean boot. All she could manage was safe Mode. I helped her to download the virus scan from Microsoft and Microsoft did the rest. When finished, they showed her the list they had removed as well as all the issues repaired, ports they had found open etc... She was 100% FREE of the virus and she herself opted to lose McAfee long enough to give Microsoft Essentials a try.
As I said, I am a wife and mother and I have nothing more to gain than the satisfaction of helping someone else who comes Googling in search of this very answer. I give you my word as a Christian, this honestly works!

I would like to add that except for having trouble catching these viruses, I have always been highly satisfied with McAfee. They have always protected my children from the very things we had purchased it to do. This virus however, allowed all that and more in and my children seen things we have taken great measures to protect them from. They failed us and my cousin and need to step it up!
