Just a note to introduce myself. I'm a computer tech from Pennsylvania in the US, and for 4 to 5 years, Bleeping has been one of the sites I've browsed for solutions to computing problems. Having just resolved yet another badly polluted computer with some help from the forums here, I figured it's about time to say hello and to get more involved.

Is there somewhere on the boards where I can get some more detailed info on rkill?

Cheers...

Hello and  to Bleeping Computer.

For your rkill enquiry you might want to start a topic here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/25/antivirus-firewall-and-privacy-products-and-protection-methods/

Garm-
Interested in how it kills processes and keeps them from respawning... general interest, as I'm not a coder. More interested to know if it has a fairly broad range of application vs. written to kill only certain processes defined in the code. Also, whether or not it's maintained or simply out there to use. Found it very useful this past week. Thanks.

Budapest - Thanks for the advice, already checking out both!

It doesn't keep them from respawing permanently.
Just long enough so you can get your malware tools to run
If you notice, when you reboot your computer you have to start all over again
