Hi everyone,

Last night my monitor started doing something unusual. When I moved my mouse to get the monitor to wake up, the picture would appear for 1-2 seconds and then would go blank. The green power light is still on and when I turn it off and on again, the same thing happens. Tried restarting computer, checked to make sure power cords, wiring is tight.
This is a Dell desktop computer running XP, Dell monitor is flat screen. System is about 4 years old.

I am writing this on my laptop.....anyway for me to hook it up through my laptop to determine if it is the monitor dying or something else?

Thanks!!

Yes but you'll have to look at your laptop manual.
I don't remember which F key you have to use to switch displays

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

Sorry to hear that, but it's good to know that you're not wasting money on the wrong part
