i cannot get the gmer to run

i followed all of the steps to a T. but when i got to the step where i am supposed to run gmer, the "windows security alert" stops anything from happening. it totally stops it.
thank you for any help on the subject.

Open GMER and deselect (uncheck) Sections and Devices from the options on the right, then try running it again. If that fails, try running GMER in safe mode. If you still cannot get GMER to run, then skip that step and continue with the next.

When you have done that, post your log in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum, NOT here, for assistance by the Malware Response Team Experts.
