So last night I got one of those pop up "your computer is infected" and I have recently dealt with one of these so I locked down the fire wall and tried to get rid of it. I went thru all the steps (Malwarebytes, Trend Micro Housecall) and seem to have disabled it but now when I try to re install either McAfee or AVG it says it cant proceed because "Malware Defense" will conflict with the virus scan and I cant find where this is hiding to erase it. I have searched for the common files that are named that but nothing is there...?

Edit: Moved topic from AntiVirus, Firewall and Privacy Products and Protection Methods to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal
